Terms of service

These terms cover the online tuition booked with Brighter Minds Tuition. They are written to be read, not to catch anyone out. Ask if anything is unclear before you book.

Booking

All tuition is online. It is agreed after a free intro call, and sessions run at a set day and time each week unless we agree otherwise. A booking is confirmed once you have agreed the schedule and the fee in writing, by email or message.

Fees and payment

Fees are agreed before the first session and are payable in advance of each block of sessions, unless we have agreed something different with you in writing. We will tell you at least 4 weeks before any change to your fee.

Cancelling a session

Give us 24 hours notice or more and the session is rearranged or credited at no cost.
Give us less than 24 hours notice, or if nobody joins the session, and the session is charged in full, because the time has been held for your child.
If we have to cancel, you get the session rearranged at a time that suits you, or refunded.

Illness happens, and we will always be reasonable about it. Tell us as soon as you know.

Ending tuition

Either side can end regular tuition with 2 weeks notice. Any sessions you have paid for and not used within that time are refunded.

What we promise

We plan every session around your child, teach it ourselves, and send you a weekly progress report afterwards. Tuition supports what a school does, it does not replace it, and no tutor can guarantee a particular grade, level or test result.

What we ask of you

Tell us anything that helps us teach your child well, including any additional needs, before the first session.
For online sessions, make sure your child has a quiet space, a working device and a stable connection.
An adult should be at home, or contactable, throughout an online session with a primary aged child.

Safeguarding

Talia is Enhanced DBS checked and the certificate is available to see on request. We follow a written safeguarding policy, which you can ask for at any time. If we ever have a concern about a child's welfare, we are obliged to report it to the appropriate authority, and we would normally discuss it with you first unless doing so would put the child at greater risk.

Online sessions and recordings

Sessions are not recorded by us. Please do not record a session without asking first, and do not share any session materials outside your family.

Materials

Worksheets, plans, stories and other materials we create stay ours. You are welcome to use them with your own child as much as you like. Please do not sell them or pass them on.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise our liability in connection with tuition is limited to the fees you have paid us for the sessions concerned.

Complaints

If something is not right, email hello@brighterminds-tuition.co.uk. We will reply within 5 working days and try to put it right.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
